The Seamaster is the longest running product line still produced by OMEGA today. It was introduced in 1948, and was modeled upon designs made for the British Royal Navy & Military towards the end of World War II. What distinguished the Seamaster from it's predecessor, was it's improved water resistance and case durability, remaining intact at depths up to 60 meters, and shatterproof in temperature ranges of -40 to +50.
Originally made as a classic dress watch, the watch line typically consists of a steel case and a certified chronometer movement within, eventually evolving into a robust sports watch.
