Essay
The OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 11 40th anniversary in Platinum was made in a limited edition of only 69 pieces to commemorate the moon landing in 1969. Similar to the significantly more common steel version, the Platinum was made with a 24ct gold, engraved caseback and mission patch on the dial which displays the number out of 69.
The hands and markers are in white gold and the chronograph hand has a red tip. These watches weighed just under 250g on the bracelet. It is one of a very select few Speedmasters ever made in Platinum.
