Essay

First launched in 1986, the Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronograph reference 3970 was the successor the legendary 2499. Reduced in size by 1.5mm to 36mm, compared to the 2499, the 3970 was available in yellow gold, white gold, rose gold and platinum. The manual wind calibre CH27-20Q was based on the Lemania 2310 and the watch was made in four series before production ceased in 2004. It's a classy chrono that exemplifies true Swiss high-end watchmaking in a classic and timeless aesthetic.
