Essay: The Ermeto travelling watch was introduced in 1927 and was aptly named because it simultaneously seals (‘Ermeto’ translated from Greek means ‘sealed’) and winds the watch. By moving the two halves of the Ermeto case apart and back together and the movement is wound. If the watch is wound up to three times a day the watch is wound for 24 hours.
The Ermeto was offered in four sizes. The smallest was intended for use by ladies in their purses, the largest, the “Pullman” for display on a desk, the second largest as a sort of oversized travelling clock known as the “Master”, and this model for carrying in the pocket as a portable watch
