One cannot write about OMEGA pocket watches without first touching upon the very beginning of the brand. The 19’’’ - OMEGA Calibre, first produced in 1894 set a benchmark for all other pocket watch movements. It was created with such technical advances such as being able to set the time via the crown and utilising a revolutionary method of production line creation whereby each part of the movement can be interchanged simply for any watch technician- all while being reasonably priced.
So successful was this movement it changed the entire company, with Louis Brandt & Freres being renamed OMEGA.
The pocket watches subsequently created combined the evolution of OMEGA’s technical advances in movement precision and production, as well as styles that adapted to fashions and trends yet never hindered the pocket watch’s legibility and ease of use.
