Notes

Timing has no greater significance than in times of war. From the minutes between cannon fire to timing ascent and decent in a military aircraft, a timepiece has become a necessary piece of equipment for any serviceman or woman.
During numerous wars, the watch industry has not only provided vital timekeepers but also equipment to the front line. Their ability to craft fine high precision timepieces meant that they were put to use creating items such as counters, time switches, firing pins, detonators etc.

OMEGA has a long history of supplying timepieces to numerous Ministries of Defence worldwide for example, the British military, Burmese Air Force, French Ministry of Defence and French National Navy, Norwegian Navy, US Army, and more. From early, remarkably fine pocket watches to the now iconic military issue wristwatches, those timepieces that have survived the horrors of war stand as a testament to not only the bravery of those that wore them but also the reliability of OMEGA.
