Created by OMEGA sales director Robert Forster, designed by Raymond Thévanaz and produced by Fernando Fontana in 1967, the OMEGA Dynamic is a truly unique and remarkable design.

The case shape was created to be completely ergonomic and, the result of extensive studies into the anatomy of the wrist. Its unique aerodynamic shape is unbroken by the crown, which is set flush into the case, meaning that one could flex the wrist without the uncomfortable feel of the crown being pushed into ones skin.
The sparse dial allowed for clear, uninhibited reading and that clean style was further added to by the novel way the strap or bracelet was fixed to the case.

The case itself was a monocoque design, meaning the case back cannot be removed, so a technician would access the dial and movement from the front. This allowed a strap to be held onto the case by a steel ring screwed to the case back and, gave the wristwatch a seamless quality whilst also allowing the owner to change straps easily.
Originally, Dynamic straps came in a material called Corfam, a porous synthetic material, in a variety of colours. However, Dynamic straps available today are produced in blue, brown or black calf leather to suit popular tastes.

The OMEGA Dynamic range, originally produced for the Géneve line, was incorporated into the De Ville line in 1970. The name change brought with it a change in style, as dials became more subdued and cases were mirror-polished as opposed to sun brushed.
