Notes
In 1948 OMEGA celebrated 100 years of creating fine timepieces by launching the OMEGA Centenary. It was a limited edition chronometer model that evoked the art of luxury precision with high quality movement and elegant exterior, instantly capturing the public’s imagination.
The OMEGA Centenary was so successful that in 1952 OMEGA chose to re-ignite the public’s passion for high quality timepieces in the form of the OMEGA Constellation range.
Developed for the world’s high precision enthusiasts, each Constellation wristwatch has been granted Chronometer status by COSC; Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, responsible for independently certifying the accuracy and precision of wristwatches in Switzerland. Additionally, as a testament to OMEGA’S numerous achievements through the years in chronometer trials, the highlights being their famous world precision records set in 1933 and 1936 at Kew-Teddington, each OMEGA Constellation is proudly stamped with the Observatory medal on the case back.
Versions of the OMEGA Constellation include the Grande Luxe (gold dial, gold case, gold bracelet), Deluxe (gold or standard dial, gold case), Luxe (standard dial, gold case), Calendar, ‘C’ and Globemaster (for the North American market).
